NEW CLASSES ARE NOW BEING OFFERED AT ZION EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER!

IT'S TIME TO REGISTER FOR 2009-2010 CLASSES! Here is the information.

Zion Early Childhood Center offers Pre-school and Kindergarten students a child-centered Christian program. Our goal is to help children develop a positive concept of themselves in God's world. This is accomplished by providing activities that will prepare the students for their school years. Each special student is celebrated as a unique creation of God, and thoroughly enjoyed for his or her special contribution to the class.

Our staff is committed to sharing the love of Christ with our students at all times. We pray at the beginning of each day and again before we enjoy our daily snack. Lots of Christian education takes place during music, learning songs of our faith.

We are Licensed and Accredited by the State of Illinois, and we admit students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

PRE-SCHOOL
  • Our Pre-school aged students are taught the ALPHABET using puppets. Time is spent learning about the sound that each letter represents at the beginning of a word.

  • NUMBERS 1 through 10 are formally taught. Pre-math skills such as counting, sorting, classifying, and pattern making are a part of every day.

  • Our students explore SCIENCE through many activities such as making our own play dough and doing snow experiments.

  • SOCIAL STUDIES are taught through holiday celebrations.
KINDERGARTEN
  • Our Kindergarten uses a professionally published curriculum.

  • READING is taught using quality literature with lessons in phonics.

  • MATH concepts are learned centering around the calendar.

  • SCIENCE is "hands on" with activities such as "clean mud" and erupting volcanoes.

  • SOCIAL STUDIES involve famous Americans.

FUN WITH LITERATURE

We bring books to life for our students! Our teachers share their joy of reading with the girls and boys every day! Often stories are acted out with props. We publish our own books using the language patterns from good books. These projects meet the needs of all students at any stage of development.
